I heard Victoria’s sermon on some of the web casting. Just about 20 years ago, I used to go to the church where she was the minister in Northampton. She’s a gem.

Great post uuMomma… dare i say could be used to rally the troops as a sermon.

I wanted to go to GA this year but unfortunately didn’t have the won vacation time so I’m quite envious of you right now. : )

I went when it was in Ft Worth and it was just as you described… life changing. I hope to make it to Salt Lake but am thinking realistically I won’t make it until the year after when it’s in Minneapolis.

This was a really amazing lecture. The truth of it was, there wasn’t much new thought in here, but a reminder for us all to learn to govern and to be involved in the change. Do watch it. You won’t be sorry. And I hope you feel better. And I hope your camp sermon goes well.

MsKitty: I wish you had been there, too. I wish someone with Kleenex or at least long sleeves was sitting next to me. Bawled like freaking baby!

I missed the Ware lecture - I was already feeling sick (upper respiratory thing which is driving me nuts) and just crashed that evening. But the SLT and Sunday am worship were absolutely what I needed as well. I’m sorry we never connected for more than a few minutes - but I’m glad to hear you were able to be fed abundantly at GA. Blessings to you, from my foggy brain which is struggling to wrap itself around writing a memorial service for three women I didn’t know (annual camp service for campers who have died in the past year).

Wow, Momma, what a great post! You have gotten me to actually feel sad that I didn’t get to go to GA this year. I wish I could have sat beside you in the Ware lecture and felt the excitement and to have been fed so well by worship experiences.

my mom always sang this song to me when i was a little girl. And now , i have no children of my own , but im a babysitter. and each time i put a young child to sleep i always sing the song “Ill love you forever , i’ll like you for always , as long as im living, my baby you’ll be.” its a beautiful book that can always bring tears to your eyes .

Kierkegaard said two things require a “leap into faith” (not “of”), religion and politics.

What a great sermon, a challenge to think and do. Wish I had been there with you. Wish I were there with you (for you) more.
