Singers of United Lands came to our church today. They sang the prelude and the postlude and taught us all a song for the Children’s story. And then they stayed for a concert in our sanctuary shortly after. They left our church in the “SOUL Train” a minivan they have basically been living in as they travel around the country.
SOUL consists of four young people from Japan, Mexico, Israel and Uganda who have been travelling around the U.S. since September 2006, staying in the homes of strangers, and singing to church and school groups.
The music was incredible, folk and popular music from their homelands–and acapella. Visit their website to find out more about them and see if they are available in your area.
It was a fabulous way to start the week. It really was music for the soul. I wish we had been in a position to offer home hospitality to one or more.
