It’s official: NOT mumps

Good thing, too, but really, really annoying.  Not to mention scary to her dad (because we don’t know if he had it and there is no one around now who was responsible for knowing that then) and to me (who still has both parents to check with, but let’s just say we got conflicting, conflicted, and then confused memories on who had the mumps and when way, way, way back then).

Good thing we didn’t have to cancel any travel plans, huh?

Going to talk to the orthodontist next, as she went on Monday and by Wednesday her face was swollen–on one side only. I’m guessing (only guessing) that bacteria might have gotten stirred up at the ortho, they may have nicked her with a wire and she may have gotten an infection…I just can’t think of anything else!

    And thanks!

Thank goodness! I’d hate to think that we went through the stress of vaccinating the kids just to learn that the shots don’t work anyway. Ugh! So, what is it if not mumps??
